Often the difference-makers in tight games, attacking midfielders are among the most sought-after, and therefore expensive, players in the game. We’ve found the best bargain, high potential attacking midfielders (CAMs) in FIFA 22.
Attacking midfielders can make or break a side or a season. Whether they are a goal scorer like Lampard, a showboater like Ronaldinho, or a creative genius like Zidane, making sure that you find the right sort of attacking midfielder is crucial if you want your side to compete for trophies.
Great attacking midfielders don’t grow on trees though, and sometimes you have to stump up big money to get your man. That being said, there are bargains to be had for some highly promising attacking midfielders, so we’ve put together the ultimate shortlist of high potential and cheap attacking midfielders in FIFA 22 Career Mode.
Choosing FIFA 22 Career Mode’s best cheap attacking midfielders (CAM) with high potential
We have ranked these prospects based on their potential rating, the fact that they have a transfer value of less than £5 million, and their favoured position is attacking midfield.

Caden Clark (66 OVR – 86 POT)
Team: New York Red Bulls
Age: 18
Wage: £5,000 p/w
Value: £2.1 million
Best Attributes: 79 Agility, 78 Acceleration, 75 Balance
The New York Red Bulls have seen some seriously talented footballers don their famous white strip, but if Caden Clark reaches his 86 potential in-game, the 66 overall attacking midfielder may be their greatest homegrown star ever.
A natural playmaker, Clark’s game revolves around his neat passing and dribbling talent. 70 short passing, 67 dribbling and 4-star skill moves characterise the Minnesotan’s innate ability to progress attacks in possession and assist teammates in and around the box.
Clark came through New York Red Bull’s youth system, but is now only representing the side from the Big Apple on loan from their affiliated club RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Leipzig spent just over £1.5 million on the 18-year-old as a result of his dominant play in the MLS, where he chipped in with three goals in eight league appearances. Let’s see if Clark can become the footballing icon America has long been waiting for.
Fabio Carvalho (67 OVR – 86 POT)
Team: Fulham
Age: 18
Wage: £5,000 p/w
Value: £2.2 million
Best Attributes: 85 Balance, 78 Agility, 77 Acceleration
Born to Portuguese parents, England have a star attacking midfielder in their ranks in the form of Fabio Carvalho, who has been given a tidy 67 overall and a phenomenal 86 potential in Career Mode.
The Fulham man, like many attacking midfielders, is agile and has great balance as illustrated by 85 balance and 78 agility. But what sets Carvalho apart is his eye for goal – 69 attacking positioning and 68 finishing suggests Carvalho has a clinical edge to his game in this year’s FIFA.
Carvalho has become a real fan favourite at Craven Cottage after amassing eleven goals and six assists in only thirteen PL2 games, before appearing in four Premier League games in Fulham’s relegation campaign. In the Championship, Carvalho has gone from strength to strength, and it appears that it’s only a matter of time before a club in continental competitions make a move for the talented Londoner.
Kacper Kozłowski (68 OVR – 85 POT)
Team: Pogoń Szczecin
Age: 18
Wage: £430 p/w
Value: £2.6 million
Best Attributes: 85 Balance, 85 Agility, 78 Acceleration
Perhaps the hottest prospect you’ve never heard of, Poland’s 68 overall Kacper Kozłowski is set for a huge career in real life and in your save game once he hits his 85 potential.
The nimble midfielder has all the attributes required to play as an attacking midfielder but also as a more defensively minded player – he can do it all. 4-star weak foot and skill moves combined with 77 composure, 74 dribbling, 73 ball control, and even 63 standing tackle makes him the ultimate, complete midfield prospect.
Kozłowski enjoyed a breakout season in 2020/21, with his midfield performances taking his Pogoń Szczecin side to third in the Ekstraklasa; their highest finish in five seasons. These performances were so impressive that Poland gave the 18-year-old a call-up to the Euro 2020 finals in the summer, where he made two appearances. He’s started the 2021/22 season in red hot form, meaning that FIFA 22 might be the last game where you can sign this unique talent so cheaply.
Yusuf Demir (70 OVR – 85 POT)
Team: FC Barcelona
Age: 18
Wage: £5,000 p/w
Value: £3.2 million
Best Attributes: 89 Balance, 86 Agility, 86 Acceleration
Currently on loan at Barcelona from Austrian juggernauts Rapid Vienna, Yusuf Demir is rapidly becoming one of Austria’s hottest talents and could reach a remarkable 85 potential in Career Mode after beginning save games with a 70 overall.
Known for his raw pace – as outlined by his 86 acceleration and 83 sprint speed – Demir’s play style is maturing and his 79 ball control, 78 dribbling, and 4-star skill moves make him a particularly overpowered forward option considering what is meta in FIFA 22’s match engine.
Nine goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for Rapid Vienna last season attracted many suitors as the then 17-year-old was rewarded with his first cap for the Austrian national team. In a surprising deal, Barcelona signed the youngster on loan and handed Demir the no. 11 jersey formerly given to superstar Ousmane Dembélé, but given his performances so far in Catalonia, Demir may be extending his loan on a permanent basis.
Andreas Schjelderup (65 OVR – 84 POT)
Team: FC Nordsjælland
Age: 17
Wage: £430 p/w
Value: £1.5 million
Best Attributes: 87 Balance, 82 Agility, 74 Acceleration
Norwegian prodigy Andreas Schjelderup appears to have a remarkably bright future in football with FIFA 22 gifting him an 84 potential to go alongside his steady 65 overall.
Schjelderup is an attacking midfielder who can also play off the left wing as well as lead the line, which is useful given his mental and physical strengths. He has 87 balance to compliment his 65 dribbling, and his 66 vision and 63 attacking positioning underlines his competency for intelligently creating chances in-game.
Danish side FC Nordsjælland only snapped up Schjelderup from Norwegian outfit FK Bodø/Glimt in the summer of 2020, although at just 17 years old, the attacking prospect has emerged as a key first team player after bagging three goals in seven regular season games last term. With so much football yet to play in his career, it’s absolutely worth scouting and even triggering his £2.9 million release clause to secure the services of one of European football’s best kept secrets.
Carney Chukwuemeka (63 OVR – 84 POT)
Team: Aston Villa
Age: 17
Wage: £860 p/w
Value: £1.3 million
Best Attributes: 75 Balance, 68 Short Passing, 68 Dribbling
Aston Villa appear to have a homegrown star on their hands with Chukwuemeka, whose 84 potential and 63 overall makes him one of the most exciting attacking prospects in the Premier League.
Chukwuemeka’s playing style revolves around his technical ability rather than physical gifts. The young playmaker has 68 short passing and dribbling which, paired with 67 long passing, gives him every chance of developing into a league-leading creator for the side from Birmingham in your save.
After making his first team debut last season, Chukwuemeka has caught the eye of some of Europe’s biggest sides according to reports. He recorded an astounding seven goals and two assists in only six FA Youth Cup games last campaign, and if he can master the all-important transition to senior football, Chukwuemeka may well become a fixture in the England side for years to come.
Hannibal Mejbri (62 OVR – 84 POT)
Team: Manchester United
Age: 18
Wage: £5,000 p/w
Value: £1.1 million
Best Attributes: 76 Agility, 70 Aggression, 69 Sprint Speed
Manchester United’s young Tunisian is certainly an attacking midfielder for the future, with his 62 overall capable of shooting up by 22 ratings to achieve his very handy 84 potential.
A naturally gifted midfielder, Mejbri is just as comfortable in a slightly deeper role which best suits his 70 aggression and 65 composure. Interestingly, he also possesses the flair and outside foot trait in-game, which definitely takes his usability to another level in the final third.
Mejbri’s supreme talent was reflected in his well-documented £9 million transfer to the red side of Manchester from Monaco back in August of 2019, aged only 16. The price tag doesn’t appear to be weighing too heavily on his shoulders, as he made his first team debut last season and has even earned three caps for the Tunisian national team after debuting against the Democratic Republic of Congo in June 2021.
