FIFA 22 Wonderkids: Best Young Spanish Players to Sign in Career Mode

    28 9 月, 2021

We’ve got ALL the best young Spanish players to sign in FIFA 22.

Spain has produced some of the greatest footballing talents in the history of the game, with the nation’s latest golden generation winning the Euros, World Cup, and then the Euros again. Headlining Spain’s legends are the likes of Sergio Ramos, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, David Villa, Raúl, Carles Puyol, Alfredo Di Stéfano, and Iker Casillas.

Now looking to return to those heights with a new batch of young players, Spain have several reasons to be optimistic. So, it’s a good idea for Career Mode players to explore the pool of the best young Spanish players.

Here, you’ll find all of the best Spanish wonderkids to sign in FIFA 22, ranked by their potential overall ratings.

Choosing FIFA 22 Career Mode’s best Spanish wonderkids

With Ansu Fati, Pedri, Eric García, and several other young players who aren’t contracted to Barcelona, there are more than enough high-potential Spaniards to sign in Career Mode.

For a Spanish player to make it onto this list of the best wonderkids from the country, they need to be 21-years-old at the most, as well as have a minimum potential rating of 81.

At the bottom of this page, you can see the full list of all of the best Spanish wonderkids in FIFA 22.

    Pedri (81 OVR – 91 POT)

    Team: FC Barcelona
    Age: 18
    Wage: £43,500
    Value: £46.5 million
Best Attributes: 89 Balance, 88 Agility, 86 Stamina

Already a mainstay for both Spain and Barcelona, it won’t come as a surprise that Pedri ranks as the best Spanish wonderkid in FIFA 22, boasting a massive 91 potential rating.

Despite what could be seen as a relatively meek 81 overall rating, Pedri already has many very useable ratings for a central midfielder. His 86 stamina, 86 vision, 85 short pass, four-star weak foot, and 80 long passing allow him to command the midfield despite only being 18-years-old.

In March 2021, Luis Enrique called Pedri up to the Spanish national team, and with just a handful of games under his belt, the 18-year-old was trusted to play almost every single minute of their Euro 2020 campaign. After going out in the semi-finals, Pedri then accompanied Luis de la Fuente’s Olympic Team to earn a silver medal.

    Ferran Torres (82 OVR – 90 POT)

    Team: Manchester City
    Age: 21
    Wage: £100,000
    Value: £59 million
Best Attributes: 88 Acceleration, 84 Attack Positioning, 84 Dribbling

Coming into Career Mode with an 82 overall rating, Ferran Torres will be a top target for many elite clubs. Still, it’s his 90 potential rating that gets him onto this list of the best Spanish wonderkids in FIFA 22.

Listed as a winger in the game, Torres’ 81 finishing, 84 dribbling, 87 acceleration, 78 sprint speed, 82 agility, and 84 positioning make him a solid choice up top.

Now looking to be City’s default striker, the Foios-born 21-year-old has already proven himself to be a potent scorer from the wing for Spain. In 20 games, only one of which saw him start as the striker, Torres scored ten goals.

    Ansu Fati (76 OVR – 90 POT)

    Team: FC Barcelona
    Age: 18
    Wage: £38,000
    Value: £15 million
Best Attributes: 90 Acceleration, 89 Agility, 87 Sprint Speed

Having broken onto the scene at the start of the 2019/20 season, as a 16-year-old, Ansu Fati has been a top young player in FIFA for several editions now, remaining as one of the best young Spanish players to sign in FIFA 22.

At 76 overall with a 90 potential rating, and still only 18-years-old, the winger born in Guinea-Bissau is set to be among the game’s wonderkids for a few more years to come. At the start of Career Mode, Fati’s 80 finishing, 87 sprint speed, 90 acceleration, and 79 dribbling are the highlights.

Fati already boasts a strong scoring record for Barça, with 14 goals and five assists by his 44th appearance, and if it weren’t for a serious knee injury, he would have more than his four caps for Spain.

    Bryan Gil (76 OVR – 86 POT)

    Team: Tottenham Hotspur
    Age: 20
    Wage: £44,500
    Value: £14 million
Best Attributes: 89 Agility, 82 Dribbling, 82 Composure

Starting off the second-tier of the best Spanish wonderkids with his potential rating of 86, Bryan Gil is still a solid young player to sign in FIFA 22.

At 76 overall, the 5’9’’ winger might not seem like he can offer much to an elite-tier starting XI, but he has several very serviceable ratings. The 82 dribbling, 82 composure, 79 acceleration, and 89 agility make Gil quite a handy player to have – particularly in attacking midfield.

Despite only just signing for Spurs in the summer, Nuno Espírito Santo has been proactive in getting Gil game time. Playing on either wing and through the middle, the Spanish wonderkid has been a starter in the Europa Conference League and the EFL Cup.

    Eric García (77 OVR – 86 POT)

    Team: FC Barcelona
    Age: 20
    Wage: £61,000
    Value: £18.5 million
Best Attributes: 80 Interceptions, 79 Short Pass, 79 Defensive Awareness

Eric García places as Spain’s best defensive wonderkid to sign in FIFA 22, starting with a 77 overall rating which can grow into his 86 potential rating.

Standing 6’0’’, García already suits the possession-based archetype that Spanish football loves to encourage, with his 79 short pass, 79 composure, and 72 long passing boding well for the Catalan’s future in the role.

While García did showcase his potential on several occasions for Manchester City, he found that his path to regular football was blocked by several centre back signings. So, he rejoined Barça as a free agent, and has been a regular starter through the early phases of this season.

    Nico Melamed (74 OVR – 86 POT)

    Team: RCD Espanyol
    Age: 20
    Wage: £10,500
    Value: £8.5 million
Best Attributes: 84 Acceleration, 84 Agility, 84 Balance

At 20-years-old with an 86 potential rating, Nico Melamed may not yet play for an elite-tier club like the other young players atop this list, but he’s certainly classed as one of the best Spanish wonderkids in FIFA 22.

Much of the appeal in signing Melamed, outside of his potential rating, is the Castelldefels-native’s movement ratings. His 84 acceleration, 83 sprint speed, 84 agility, and 84 balance, combined with his 82 dribbling, make him quite the handful down the wing.

Last season, Melamed worked his way into the Espanyol starting XI on several occasions, mostly playing on the left wing or in attacking midfield. However, after earning promotion, the young Spaniard struggled for starts.

    Brahim Díaz (78 OVR – 86 POT)

    Team: AC Milan
    Age: 21
    Wage: £28,000
    Value: £30.5 million
Best Attributes: 91 Balance, 89 Agility, 83 Short Pass

Brahim Díaz manages to wrangle his way into the upper-echelons of the best Spanish wonderkids to sign in FIFA 22 by virtue of him being 21-years-old and boasting a potential rating of 86.

Playing in the CAM position, the 5’7’’ playmaker is certainly deployable from the start of Career Mode, even with his 79 overall rating. The midfielder born in Málaga starts FIFA 22 with 71 long shots, 74 long passing, 82 dribbling, 83 short passing, 82 acceleration, and 89 agility, making him a menace in the pocket.

In real life, Díaz is only on-loan from Real Madrid for two years, but as FIFA’s yet to cater to longer loan spells, the Spanish wonderkid is on AC Milan’s books on a permanent deal in-game. Now in his second season of what will end up being a total of three terms at the San Siro, Díaz is a regular starter and even netted four goals in the first seven games of this campaign.
